Welcome, reader! I'm Owain and I'm doing a PhD in ecolinguistics. It is an autoethnography in which I read the text of Bangor, Gwynedd from a bicycle. What message does this text communicate about using a bicycle to get around? Could we create more positive stories that encourage cycling for the sake of health? Human health, the health of society and that of the more than human world. Previously, I investigated how to bring sustainability into language teaching and shared my ideas on this website and beyond. Explore the ELTsustainable archive to see my previous work.
